Suspension of principal and interest repayments in support of businesses in areas affected by the flooding as indicated in Annex 1 to Italian Decree Law no. 61/2023 and of deadlines for administrative proceedings
Suspension of payments
In its meeting of 7 June 2023, the Financial Support Committee decided to suspend up until 31 December 2023, on request of beneficiary companies, the payment of principal and interest for repayments falling due from 1 May 2023 to 31 December 2023.
The suspension is for companies that are beneficiaries of loans from Fondo 394/81 (Fund 394/81) resources and from PNRR-Fondo 394/81 (NRPP-Fund 394/81) resources and related grant co-funded grants from the Fondo Promozione Integrata (Integrated Promotion Fund), which – at 1 May 2023 – had their registered office or operating bases in areas indicated in Annex 1 to Italian Decree Law no. 61 of 1 June 2023, and have beenĀ impacted by the flooding.
The request for the suspension must be submitted by certified email no later than 8 August 2023, digitally signed by the legal representative of the applicant.
Suspension of the payment does not modify the original final deadline to repay loans, which in any case remains unchanged, and the payment of the suspended capital and interest must be made, at the latest, at the first possible date after 31 December 2023, as per the original plan.
During the suspension, no contractual interest rate will be applied to late payments. SIMEST may check eligibility to access the suspension.
Suspension of the deadlines of proceedings
In addition, pursuant to Italian Decree Law no. 61 of 1 June 2023, the deadlines for administrative proceedings pending at 1 May 2023 or which were started after this date are suspended from 1 May 2023 to 31 August 2023, for all loans from Fund 394/81 resources and from NRRP-Fund 394/81 resources and related co-funded grants from Integrated Promotion Fund resources for parties that, at 1 May 2023 had their home address, domicile or registered office or operating base in the areas indicated in annex 1 to the aforesaid Decree Law.
Interested companies may, in any case, inform SIMEST by certified email, at simest@legalmail.it that they have an operating base in these areas.
